Edinburgh: Islander Handbag Workshop Experience – Canongate

The workshop experience lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. You’ll spend your time choosing your bag design elements (such as the body colour and Harris Tweed® fabric), assembling parts under the guidance of the Workshop Ambassadors, and completing your handbag so you can take pride in your finished, Made in Scotland creation.

You will design and create your own Islander Harris Tweed® handbag. The process includes selecting the bag’s body colour, choosing the Harris Tweed® cloth piece, deciding on the strap, and adding accessories to reflect your personality. Everything is guided by the Workshop Ambassadors, and the materials are transformed into a finished bag using workshop tools and a hands-on making experience.

Workshop Ambassadors provide expert guidance throughout the activity, helping you with the steps and ensuring you can enjoy a creative, supported experience while you assemble your final bag.

The experience is held in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in the Canongate area at the Islander Handbag workshop location. You’ll be welcomed into the bustling workshop setting where the making takes place, and you’ll work on your design with the help of the Workshop Ambassadors.

The price is 69.26 EUR for the 60 to 90-minute creative workshop experience. It covers your guided participation, including selecting design components (Harris Tweed® fabric, colours, strap, and accessories) and the making process to produce your own Islander Harris Tweed® handbag.
